Late Edo or early Meiji period, 19th century, bronze with gilt highlights cast with a host of auspicious animals that symbolize longevity in Japan including a ferocious dragon in high relief wrapping around the vase with whipping waves below and swirling clouds above, around the foot minogame turtles in high relief face one another around the neck cranes in high relief fly amidst swirling clouds, the thick rim is decorated with a key motif.
