Contemporary, stoneware with a surface layer that is painted in dark gray with reddish spots, inspired by the "Terracotta Army" soldiers from the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China buried in 210 BCE in Xi'an province, like the sculptures found in the tomb, this pair have unique facial and clothing features, they are in two parts with their heads being separate pieces that fit into the bodies, they stand frontal facing atop bases.

An area of loss backside of skirt to one warrior; some minor nicks and roughness at edges; some areas with black or white marks.
