Qing dynasty (1644-1912), carved lacquer cinnabar box, decorated with raised figures of the God of Longevity (Shoulao) accompanied by three attendants in a landscape of craggy rocks and boulders and pine tree, clouds overhead, all over a star diaper ground with long rectangular diaper ground for the sky, sides of box and cover are decorated with raised peony blossoms, black lacquer interior and underside.

Break to interior rim of cover with loss to lacquer down to banded core, pieces remain with the box; some cracks and wear to lacquer on rim surface and edge of both cover and box; deeper crack at point running over interior lacquer on cover and box; possible areas of repair and restoration to lacquer interior rim of cover and box rim; scratches and wear to smooth underside of box; the cinnabar lacquer has darkened on the cover and becomes gradually more red on the lower body of the box; sticker to underside of box.
