George Washington O'Neal (1869-1949), Ocracoke, North Carolina. George Washington O'Neal was born shortly after the Civil War and is the oldest recognized decoy maker from Ocracoke Island. He is also, arguably, the best. This exceptional brant was made for the Gooseville Gun Club. It exhibits a graceful swimming posture. This exact decoy is published on page 370 of
