Alvin Harris (1904-1975), Atlantic, North Carolina. Alvin Harris is widely regarded as the second finest carver from Carteret County; second only to Mitchell Fulcher. This exceptional decoy sports a ninety degree turned head to the left. It is made of balsa salvaged from life raft material from sunken Liberty ships during World War II. This decoy was from Alvin`s personal rig and bears his brand. It is one of the finest examples known.
