From the estate of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lehman, Richmond, Virginia

According to the story passed down through the consignor's family, Mrs. Lehman received this work directly from Salvador Dalí himself. It appears to be a printed version of Dalí's drawing titled Deux Danseurs, which sold at Christie's in 2018 and had been a gift from the artist to Princesa Marta and Archiduque Francisco José in 1949. The printed version of this drawing offered here is the only impression our research has uncovered.

This print is in the form of a folded pamphlet, with the image on the front. The text inside reads "Cover Design Donated by Salvador Dalí" (left) and "Compiled by Mrs. John L. Strong / 660-Fifth Avenue, New York City / Printed in the U.S.A." (right). Mrs. John. L. Strong is an American custom paper and stationery company that was founded in 1929, and over the years the company has created many custom products for presidential families, royalty, and celebrities. This illustration may have been a cover for an invitation or brochure.

Expected wear from handling as if it were an invitation or brochure, including toning, some stains/smudges, and several creases.
