Patinated cast bronze, depicting an abstract figure of a squirrel with tail upright, mounted atop a rose and white hardstone base, inscribed "Trapp" signature to upper right edge of hardstone base.

Wayne is an accomplished artist in a variety of media, and best known for his abstract sculptures and paintings. He grew up in Pittsburgh, and eventually settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He received his BFA from Ohio University, and also studied at Pratt Institute, the Art Students League of New York, and Pittsburgh's Art Institute.

Wayne has completed many commissioned public pieces throughout the US. His artworks are in various museum and university collections, including Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina; Fairmont State University, Fairmont, West Virginia; The Mint Museum, Charlotte, North Carolina; Ohio State University; among many others.

Applied patina with associated verdigris and abrading texture near base; scattered nicks to hardstone.
