Originally owned by A. W. Klemme, and later by his son A. W. Klemme, Jr., High Point Glass & Decorative Co. had been operating since 1906 (closing its doors around 2000), producing all types of leaded windows for regional churches and cathedrals including hand stained (imported and domestic glass) and opalescent glass. Talented glass painters, including those from England and Germany, were often employed by the company to create the designs seen in these works on paper. Venues where the company's craftsmanship can be seen include: Knob Creek UMC in Lawndale, NC; Clover Hill UMC in Lawndale, NC; Daniels Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, NC; Philadelphia UMC in Fort Mill, SC; Centenary UMC in Mt. Ulla, NC; St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Mt. Ulla, NC; among many others.

Some works are loosely mounted or detached from portfolio due to weakening adhesive; artworks mostly in good condition with some toning and aging to varnish layer; portfolio cases with staining and soiling.
