Late 19th or early 20th century, pewter hinged box raised on three ball feet, interior is lined with wood and has three divided sections, cover is inset with a rectangular panel of carved red cinnabar lacquer with peony design surrounding a bone carving of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
