Peele Ballance (1864-1939), Knotts Island, North Carolina. Peele was born in Maple, NC but moved to a farm on the southern part of Knotts Island in his early twenties. Around 1900, he purchased another farm which was located beside Lee Dudley's farm. This became the location for his decoy making and market hunting business. This decoy has the carved brand PB and was from his personal hunting stand.
