Meiji Period (1868-1912), the jar with a baluster body and fitted domed cover surmounted by a playful iron red Chinese lion, all hand painted in iron red and gilt with shaped registers and kimono textile patterns as well as elegant flora, signed "kutani zo" to underside in iron red.
