Just 1,112 Cabriolets with fuel injection were produced. The pinnacle of the W128 range is the fuel-injected 220SE Cabriolet, introduced in 1959 and built over just a short time frame through October 1960. This W128 is an older frame-off restoration and is in magnificent condition showing few signs of use since.
The car's 2.2-liter in-line 6 cylinder engine produces 115 horsepower, and is driven by a column-mounted 4-speed manual transmission. In its original interior/exterior of DB 516 Mittelrot (medium red) with 953 black leather interior and black German canvas convertible top. The dash, door caps and other parts of the interior are gorgeous, hand crafted woodwork. Seats and interior trim were crafted in superior Roser surface-dyed leather hides, with Wilton wool carpets and chrome details. Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio in the dash. A copy of the original data card is included.
