Stanley Wahab, Rig Feeding Tip Up with Rigging
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Stanley Wahab (1888-1967), Ocracoke, North Carolina. This is an extremely rare and important decoy. Stanley left Ocracoke in 1916 on the DuPont yacht, Tec, as a mate. He traveled to Wilmington, Delaware and enrolled in business college. He became a self-made businessman. He moved back to Ocracoke permanently in 1948 and operated several businesses on the island. He purchased the Quork Hammock Club and entertained many friends there. He carved a few decoys and collected many made by other carvers. This decoy was likely made by a more talented Ocracoker hand.
