The first: lithograph on paper, artist proof with later white heightening in tempera, artist signed and dated 1963/1965 to lower right, inscribed to lower middle and lower left, matted behind glass and presented in a gilt frame; the second: lithograph on paper, signed to lower right, 1963, matted behind glass and presented in a black frame.

Broderson graduated from Duke University in 1950. He taught for at Duke and North Carolina State University for several years during the 1960s, before leaving teaching to devote himself fully to painting. His work may be found at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, as well as the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.

Some cockling to sheets, otherwise appears in good condition; not examined out of the frames.
