Churches Island, North Carolina, this widgeon decoy was made for Moses Rountree White (1900-1992); Mose owned a lumber yard and provided the juniper for Ned Burgess; Mose also ordered a stand from Ned but they received little to no use; this exceptional drake widgeon was never rigged and is in original condition, the bill has a prominent turn to the right as Burgess was blind in one eye; a master work.
Length 15.5 in.
Ned is possibly the most prolific decoy maker from Currituck County, and his birds in original paint are highly sought after.
