Eldon Willis (1908-1981) and Elmer Salter (1902-1964) both from Stacy, North Carolina, this decoy saw little use and was probably carved in the late 1940's.

The carving team of Eldon Willis and Elmer Salter was the most prolific carvers from Core Sound. They created their first rig together in 1928 and their pintails have always been the most treasured.
