Serial number 446562 (1908 manufacture), 23 in barrel marked .38 WCF; walnut stock with original metal butt plate; left side of stock branded with written LV for Lem Virginius Dudley.
Includes letter of provenance which states this rifle was owned by Lem Dudley and Linwood Dudley. Lem was twin brother to decoy making icon, Lee Dudley. Linwood was an accomplished decoy maker and reportedly could shoot a flying goose with this rifle at 100 yards. The Dudley family was from Knotts Island, North Carolina.
