1838 date mark, unknown maker's mark, dolphin mark indicating local production and a fineness under the .833 purity standard; of squat circular form with boldly chased acanthus and floral designs flanking two figural vignettes, cast and applied handle with figural thumb guard, the spout terminating in an open mouthed bird mask, the removable domed cover with cast finial in the form of a cupid, raised on an applied conforming foot ring. No monograms.
