Made from a carver from Long Island, likely the Verity family, circa 1910, carved and painted cork body with wooden keel, published on page 265 of Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.

Purchased from Carl Ross, superintendent of the Currituck Shooting Club in 1998.

The Curritcuk Shooting Club is America`s oldest hunting club and was founded in 1857. The original members were industry titans from New York and the early decoys originated from Long Island.

Worn original paint on the head, no remaining paint on the cork body; head loosely attached to body.
