Albert Twiford was born in Corolla, North Carolina, when his father, Theodore Twiford was still market hunting on the waters of Currituck Sound. Sometime in the 1915 to 1918 time period, the Twiford family moved to the Back Bay, Virginia, area. Albert worked as a guide at the High Point Club in the late 1920s into the 1930s.
