Circa 1770, Jodhpur, opaque pigments and gold on paper, inscribed in Devanagari at top, the seated rider is likely a young Prince Zalim wearing fine court attire, pearls, and royal bejeweled red and gold turban, he rides on a spotted gray horse with two attendants walking beside, presented floating above a fabric mat in gilt frame.

Framed dimensions: 16 1/4 x 12 1/4 in.

Wear with loss to pigments at edges and small section to middle of right hand side, especially in lower left corner; some small holes in upper portion and lower portion of painting; a few small stain spots; some old creases; inscription has faded at top; writing to reverse of the painting.
