Shorebird hunting and the use of shorebird decoys was prevalent in the coastal regions prior to 1918 when it was outlawed. The fine pair was exhibited at the Decorative Arts exhibit at the Ackland Museum in Chapel Hill, NC in the 1980s.

Scattered loss to paint; some insect damage to base.
