W.H. "Beans" Weatherly gifted this decoy to his friend in 1946. Beans was a founding member of the North Carolina chapter of Ducks Unlimited in 1954. The served as the first chairman for NC DU. His efforts in wildlife conservation are immeasurable. Beans was inducted to the Ducks Unlimited Hall of Fame in 2019.
