Described on Collectable Old Decoys letterhead, South Carolina, prior to 1950, make these original paint "flocked" sleepers especially historical. The three known were apparently removed from the rig and displayed as "country sculpture"; all appear to be unused. All the identical straight-head examples are in a second coat of flocked paint.
