Patinated cast bronze, dancer depicted in traditional costume with tambourine raised, incised signature "B. Zach" to the terrace, mounted upon a black hardstone plinth.

Born in Ukraine, Bruno Zach was a versatile figurative sculptor, creating bronzes and mixed media sculptures of western, orientalist, sporting, animalier, art deco, and exotic subjects and narratives. He studied at the Vienna Academy under Hans Bitterlich and Josef Mullner. Bruno's intoxication with the exotic nightlife in Berlin and Vienna became a main theme for his erotic sculptures for which he perhaps is best known.

A few minor light scratches to patina on upraised forearm; small chips to base corners.
