The silver sugar basket with mark of Eoff & Shepherd and retailed by Ball, Black and Co., both of New York, oval form with gently upswept ends, central swing handle, raised on a conforming base, no monogram (LOA 5 7/8 in.); the sugar tongs with mark of Alexander Hascy of Albany, active circa 1831-1850, also with three pseudo hallmarks, shaped handles terminating in finely detailed claw and talon ends, period bright cut monogram "IHT" to handle.
