A Gorham Copper and Sterling Silver Oil Lamp

Circa 1880s, marked "(anchor in shield) / Gorham Co. / Y86 / P," the vessel is modeled as a barrel with etched staves and applied hoops, a handle is attached with faux rivets, the top is domed to which a small silver snail with raised head and tentacles is applied, with removable collar and wick nub, a silver chain remains which likely attached to a now missing cover.
