The first with mark of Tift & Whiting, also marked "Pure Coin Silver" and with the model no. 2, cylindirical form with slight taper, applied handle, the front with floral and foliate cartouche around the engraving "E. L. / Decr. 24th 1853 / 'Forget me not.'" (3 1/2 in.) (stable seam separation at top of handle); the second is unmarked but tests silver, with hand-chased landscape scene to body in the style of Kirk, no monogram or engraving (3 1/2 in.) (minor shallow dents to body).
