Circa 1840, Rajasthan, colors with gilt and silver on paper, the vertical composition portraying the Hindu God Krishna in his Shri Nathji's form, he stands in a temple niche against a bright orange ground, richly adorned with floral garlands, several strands of pearls with encrusted gilt medallions, and a large pearl as nose ring, wearing a turban embellished with a peacock feathers, the composition set within silver and yellow rules, framed with fabric mat.
Purchased in Old Delhi during the 1960s.
