Made in Sweden, the first is a circular centerpiece with applied semi-circular handles, a short recessed footed base, the interior decorated with three bands of silver inlay, 917 (2 3/4 x 9 1/2 x 10 in.); the second is a bowl with short applied scroll handles, the interior decorated with the form of an infant mermaid, 856 II (3 1/4 x 8 x 6 1/2 in.). Both signed on the underside.

Wilhelm Kåge’s Argenta series was crafted between 1930 and the 1970s in the Gustavsberg studio. The objects were made of stoneware with a mottled deep green glaze, many with a Neoclassical or Art Deco motif.
