The first a large handled cup with mark of Ball, Black & Co. of New York, marked "American Sterling," applied female mask to front of cup opposite handle, engraved foliate border to rim, applied beaded detail to rim and foot, engraved "Mary from Grandma" (3 3/8 x 4 3/4 in. diameter) (slightly out of round, minor scratching); the second a miniature cup marked "Pure Silver Coin" and with mark of Tift & Whiting, engined turned decoration to body surrounding a sheild form cartouche engraved "Martha Hope / 1956 / Minnie / 1860 / Mary Maxwell / 1919" (2 in.); and the third a small parcel gilt goblet, unmarked (but tested for silver), engine turned engraving to cup surround a cartouche engraved "Louise," further engraved "LK 1883 LBK" to foot (3 in.).
