Lydia Fisher was born in New York City. She received her MFA from Yale University and continued post-graduate studies at the International Center of Photography in New York. She exhibited widely during her lifetime, including group exhibitions and solo exhibitions at The Bronx Museum of Arts, New York; Museo de Art Moderno, Mexico; Venecia OE70, Venice, Italy; the Venezuelan Embassy, Washington, D.C.; Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Caracas, Venezuela; and Espace Meyer-Zafra, Paris.
