Cook, 1838), one page, small folio (15-1/2 x 12-1/4 in.), includes a "Description" reading "CADET is a dapple gray, 8 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, of the most powerful form, uniting great strength with matchless beauty; he was purchased of Wm. R. Johnson of Virginia, at the figure of $3,500, to cross our blood horses, which he is better calculated to do than any horse I know of; possessing three or four crosses of the old imported Medley, the best, and gamest horse ever imported. Cadet being a perfect beauty, will suit the blooded mares of the Sir Archie stock, and indeed the mares in general of our country - as the highest priced, and best harness and saddle stock are produced from game horses." This glowing introduction is followed by Pedigree and an "Extract of a letter from Col. William R. Johnson to Jefferson Scott." Presented in a wooden frame, 23 x 20 in.
