A Burmese Standing Buddha Sculpture

Late 19th century, lacquered dark brown red and then applied with gilt to the surface, the Buddha is carved standing on a lotus pedestal in a flowing robe decorated with inlaid colored glass, he has a serene facial expression and painted enameled eyes, long earlobes, tight curls at this head, standing on a lotus base that is mounted to a modern flat wooden base.

Breaks with loss to the lower sides of his robe that are extended outwards; rubbing and wear with scattered loss to surface gilt; some loss to small inlaid glass pieces; left foot appears to have been repaired.
