Lot 2079
Linwood Dudley (NC, 1886-1958), Published Goose
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Knotts Island, North Carolina, circa 1920, carved and painted wood, published on page 73 of Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.

Length 17 in.

Linwood Dudley was the nephew of the decoy making icon Lee Dudley. His decoys are considered crude as compared to his uncle's, however, the large humpback geese and canvasbacks are folksy and very attractive to the collector's eye. This is a fine example.

Original paint, multiple age checks in the body, working repair to the neck, tight crack in the bill.
