Warm-toned gelatin silver print (mounted), negative circa 1927, likely printed circa 1940s, framed.

This print is accompanied by a signed copy of James Enyeart's book, Bruguière: His Photographs and His Life (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1977). The author dedicated the book to Roxane and Rosalinde [Fuller], and this copy bears two hand-written ink dedications that read as follows:

"This book is for Nina:
Much of the spirit of this book came from her spirit.
Jim Enyeart"

"To my loves Nina and Nathan Starr / What happy memories
With my love, Rosalinde Fuller"

Image size 11 x 14 1/4 in.; Frame dimensions 19 1/4 x 22 1/2 in.

Private Collection, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Bruguière gifted this photograph to friend, photographer, and art historian, Nina Howell Starr (1903-2000).

When Enyeart's book was published, he also gifted this dedicated copy to Starr. In the Acknowledgements of the text, Enyeart states that he thanks "Nina Howell Starr for sharing her research on Bruguière." (Enyeart xi)

Both the photograph and the book were passed down through Starr's family until they were gifted to the present owner in 2006.

Several edge nicks; photograph and mount affixed to a newer backing; partially examined out of frame.
