Ramsay & Co with Dirk Lindeman, a bookbinder. This firm dissolved in 1836 and Ramsay worked for several years on his own. In 1840 he moved to New Bern and opened a firm with Robert Beckwith. He returned to Raleigh and eventually partnered with John C. Palmer.
