19th or 20th century, carved wooden daybed with woven seat, side and back panels are painted with a continuous lush riverside landscape scene with Mandarin figures engaged in everyday activities, an upper band of raised gilt relief decoration of mice amongst grapevines, the shaped front apron is decorated in low relief with a myriad of birds amongst plum blossom branches, the two front legs fit into carved foo lion bases,
the sides and back can lift out of the daybed for easy transport and storage.
