A Japanese Ceramic Sculpture of Bodhidharma
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Late 19th or early 20th century, a finely crafted sculpture of Bodhidharma in a long windswept robe open exposing his bare chest, hood over his head, an intense expression on his face with large bushy eyebrows, small hole to underside.

15 1/4 in.

From the Collection of the late Keith Stanley, Professor Emeritus of Classical Studies at Duke University, North Carolina

Overall good estate condition; a chip to back edge of his robe and to lower base edge, and appears some loss to where his hands meet under his robe.
