Husband and wife design partners Robert and Trix Haussmann both have impressive roots in modern architecture. Robert studied under architecture greats Johannes Itten, Gerrit Rietveld, and Willy Guhl; Trix Haussmann studied under Valerio Olgiati and Ernst Gisel. Since then, they have created an extensive portfolio of work, garnering international renown for their command of style and form.

Introduced by Knoll in 1988, their lounge seating collection featured a combination of soft and hard edges, producing clean, elegant lines, and superlative comfort. Reflecting the designers’ awareness of environment, the freestanding modules could be fitted with an optional mirrored back, integrating them into any setting.

Some small areas of moth damage.
