A Japanese Gilt Bronze Okimono Figure with Axe

Meiji period (1868-1912), in the style of Miyao, unsigned, male figure stands finely cast holding an axe to his side and carrying a large basket on his back, his short kimono jacket has finely rendered ume plum blossoms, a double gourd is tied at his waist, figure is secured with screws to a carved wooden base.

Figure only 10 in., with stand 13 in.

Good estate condition; some water mark discoloration to stand.
