Circa 1850, includes very finely painted miniature portraits on ivory of Emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, and his wife Moomtaj Mahal, as well as an image of the Taj Mahal itself, all framed in period gilt bronze frames, labeled to the reverse, each with museum accession numbers, and a cloth and velvet wrapped box with an oval shaped miniature portrait of a shah to the cover framed and under glass.

Largest frame 5 3/4 x 4 in.; Box 2 x 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 in.

Good estate condition.
