20th century, granite carved relief panel with a male and female in long robes standing by an outdoor pavilion to their left appears to be a Chinese Immortal or scholar floating above the ground on clouds, below is a a shaped floriate register.

Carved relief panels can be found in China as early as the Han dynasty (206 CE-220 BCE), brick reliefs that were included in burial tombs, the subjects of these bricks would reflect prosperous wishes for a peaceful and comfortable afterlife. During later periods in Chinese history carved relief panels could be found in temples and decorating imperial buildings.

Good estate condition; some dirt and light wear from being outside.
