20th century, the body is painted blue and the rat is adorned with a necklace, saddle, feet, ears, and mouth painted in red and black, head tilted upwards with mouth open, long tail, the rat is the vehicle for the Hindu god Ganesha, and therefore this sculpture may have been placed in a temple or in a home for religious meaning.
