19th century, ovoid bodies with two lug handles to either side of body, mirror images painted to front of body of two elegantly dressed ladies under blossoming trees, reverse has identical calligraphy, covers painted with scene of mother and child seated in lush landscape and single line of calligraphy, peach finial to top of both covers.
