Late Edo or early Meiji period, 19th century, porcelain hand painted in Imari palette, includes a scalloped rim oval platter with thick bands of alternating decoration around the edges, and an unusual vase with continuous landscape narrative filled with symbols of longevity including a long tailed turtle, a pair of cranes, pine and plum trees.

Platter 10 x 12 in., Vase 8 3/8 in.

Platter has a nick to rim; rubbing with loss to gilt on rim.
