Duong Cam Chuong was a Vietnamese doctor, painter and poet. After a successful career as a surgeon in Vietnam, he retired to France in 1968. Here he was able to commit himself full time to painting. He was a member of the French Association of Painters and exhibited extensively throughout the country. In 1990, he and his family returned to Vietnam, settling in Ho Chi Minh City. He was awarded the Medal for the cause of Vietnam Fine Arts in 1999 and published his final collection of poetry in 2012.
