20th century, smaller box is carved celadon serpentine hardstone with key motif and floral spray to cover, sides of box have bamboo, flora, and a landscape scene, with metal base, raised on four small carved circular agate feet, carved agate fish is secured to the center of cover, and a larger wood box, the cover inset with a celadon serpentine hardstone carving of a figure on a boat out at sea.

Larger box 4 1/2 x 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 in.; Smaller box 3 1/4 x 3 1/2 x 4 7/8 in.

Smaller box with chips and fritting to edges of cover, bottom appears to be glued into metal base; larger box has glue around the interior top of cover where hardstone carving is secured to the wood; general estate wear to both.
