Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Currituck Inlet, North Carolina, circa 1900, carved and painted wood.

Length 9.5 in.

From the Personal Collection of Mr. Kroghie Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina

The White family from the Wash Woods area of the Outer Banks were decoy makers and hunters who operated out of the Currituck Inlet Club. Leon White's daughter, Marguerita married Joseph Raynor, Jr. from Hampton Bay, NY. His father, Joseph, Sr. was a client of the White family and hunted with them annually. This decoy has an inletted head and was probably made by a member of the White family and hunted by Mr. Raynor.

Old gunning paint with moderate wear.
