19th century or earlier, a bulbous shaped vase with wide neck and mouth, finely cast with detailed auspicious motifs such as qilin, bats, foo lion, and a frontal facing dragon with five claws to lower feet, Buddhist treasure symbols encircle the neck, lotus leaf band with key motif decorate the lower neck and upper body, lion head faux handles flank the neck, with wide mouth, has scattered touches of gilt to surface.

Drilled to underside and around hole surface is worn (possibly fitted as lamp previously); rough molding to interior; verdigris to interior; surface wear and minor nicks to rim and foot; significant loss to original gilt; some corrosion to lower neck in one spot.
